We are excited to announce that our small dog rescue, Glimmer of Life, has just been approved for 501(c)(3) status! After 2 long years of hard work, we are finally official!

Glimmer of Life is a 100% non-profit small dog rescue dedicated to saving the lives of sickly and injured animals whose devastating health conditions would have caused them to be euthanized anywhere else. We find them, we fix them up, and we adopt them out. Check out our many small rescue dogs for adoption on GlimmerOfLife.com!

And please remember...adopting a rescue dog is a great responsibility. They will require a lot of your attention and patience! So please make sure that you are ready for this type of commitment.

Also...please be realistic. We do this out of the goodness of our hearts because we love all dogs - no matter what size, shape, or color, and we hope that you do too. So please do not e-mail us asking for a 2 lb. Yorkie puppy with a babydoll face to adopt, because that's not gonna happen! Let's be realistic about the types of dogs that people no longer want. We rarely get puppies (especially 2 lb. Yorkies) because everyone wants those - it's the older ones that nobody wants. So if you REALLY want to make a difference in the life of a sweet and helpless creature who will give you unconditional love and affection, then adopt a dog today - for the right reasons. But do not request a puppy - you're not doing anybody a favor.

We'd like to start out by saying Thank You to everyone who attended the First Annual Halloween Pet Costume Party at TeaCups Puppies & Boutique, together with Pets Are People Too! It was a great success, and it couldn't have been for a better cause!

We were able to raise over $350 for "Glimmer of Life" between the Charity Raffle and Pet Portrait Events, and three of our rescue dogs found forever homes! We would also like to give a special thanks to Lys Rubin for her generous donation of $1,000! Thank you, Lys!

As for the party...it was a blast! We couldn't believe how many guests attended, and the costumes were amazing, it was SO HARD to choose!! We'd like to congratulate Elizabeth & Juliet Ayler, the winners of our Charity Raffle AND the following winners of the Costume Contest:

Pooches Rock the Posh Punk Look at TeaCups Puppies & Boutique

As if they weren't cute enough already....

Pups are going punk.

At least they are at Teacups Puppies & Boutique in Pembroke Pines (9003 Taft Street; 954-985-8848).

The pet store that specializes in pampered pooches and regularly draws celebrities such as Whitney Houston, Mandy Moore, Missy Elliot, Alonzo Mourning and Gloria Estefan looking for designer doggie duds and treats.

Now the store is channeling Sid Vicious by having the grooming side of the business - called Pets Are People Too - style doggie coats in funky pinks, blues and purples.

To accessorize these new looks (for what is punk if not an opportunity to accessorize?) the store has punk-themed merchandise from barking-mad brands such as Paris Erotica, Chrome Bones, Kiki Monster Couture and Wooflink.

Human designer labels Juicy and Christian Audigier are ruff-ready with a few looks straight from the catwalks (sorry!) in canine couture.

There are even mini-guitar and skull-n-crossbones chew toys. And of course there are punk colors offered in the manicures and pedicures - nail PAWLISH anyone? Also check out the stencils for further decorating at home.

Vinny Travels The Caribbean

On March 8, 2009, Vinny accompanied Miss Eleonora Bonfini and Miss Donna Piro on a beautiful week-long Caribbean crusie! Vinny spent his week sailing the open seas to destinations such as: Grand Turk at Turks & Caicos Islands, San Juan Puerto Rico, St. Thomas/St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. Of course he was the center of attention, and by Day 2, everyone on the ship knew him and called out to him by his first name! He was such a huge hit that the comedian is even using "Gangster" Vinny in upcoming comedy routines! Vinny enjoyed fine dining, gambling, swimming in the pool, mountain climbing in the rain forest of Puerto Rico, and lounging on the white sandy beaches of Half-Moon Cay!

With endless wrinkles , fat bellies, and razor sharp teeth (all the better to nibble on you with), these fuzzy little monsters will steal your heart!
